Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

Metztli Cocina Bar wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use this website. We build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we keep reviewing and improving the site.

What We Have Done

• A visible focus indicator on every link, button and field.
• A skip-to-content link, one main heading per page and headings in order.
• A visible label on every form field. Errors are explained in a sentence, tied to the field for screen readers and never shown by color alone.
• Alternative text on every food photo that describes the dish. Decorative images, such as the moon and agave marks, are marked so screen readers skip them. Review star ratings are always written out as text.
• A mobile menu that keeps focus inside it, closes with Escape and returns focus to the menu button.
• Tap targets of at least 44 pixels on phones, and form text of at least 16 pixels.
• Support for the reduced-motion setting, which turns animation off.
• The whole site in English and Spanish, with each page's language marked.

Known Limitations

• Our full menu with prices is the restaurant's PDF and may not read well with screen readers. Every dish is also on our menu page as text, and we will give you any price by phone.
• We have not yet tested the site with real users of screen readers or other assistive technology. Our review has been done in the code, with the keyboard and by measuring contrast in a browser.
